Ongoing projects: taking concrete action in Sapaga

A structured response to an emergency situation, supporting displaced families, helping children return to school and strengthening local autonomy.

For several years, the village of Sapaga has been facing the arrival of many internally displaced families forced to flee their region because of insecurity and attacks by armed jihadist groups.

This situation has disrupted local living conditions, especially access to education, food resources and income-generating activities.

In response, the association has developed targeted actions to meet concrete and immediate needs.

    Helping children return to school

One of the major challenges is the schooling of displaced children, many of whom have had their education interrupted.

For the 2025-2026 school year, more than 1300 children were able to attend school thanks to these actions. Beyond access to education, the aim is to restore stability and future prospects for children in highly vulnerable situations.

    • Identifying out-of-school children
    • Support with school registration
    • Distribution of supplies and equipment
    • School progress monitoring

    Adapting infrastructure to local needs

The rapid increase in the number of pupils has put existing infrastructure under pressure.

These actions help improve learning conditions and allow more pupils to be welcomed in suitable conditions.

    • Construction and improvement of school buildings
    • Classroom equipment: desks, benches and teaching materials
    Food support for vulnerable families
    03

    Meeting essential needs

The vulnerability of displaced families makes it difficult for children to stay in school without broader support.

These actions are essential to help children remain in school over time.

    • Food support
    • Support for the most vulnerable families
    Economic activities supporting family autonomy
    04

    Supporting family autonomy

Beyond the emergency response, the association develops initiatives designed to strengthen families’ economic autonomy.

These projects help families meet their needs and reduce their dependence on external aid.

    • Poultry and sheep farming
    • Soap production
    • Sewing activities
    • Small businesses

    Transparent and measurable action

The association places great importance on transparency in its actions.

Each project is carried out in direct connection with local stakeholders and beneficiaries, with regular monitoring of results.

    A long-term commitment

The actions carried out in Sapaga are part of both a humanitarian and sustainable approach: responding to emergencies, providing long-term support and encouraging autonomy. The goal is clear: to help local and displaced populations rebuild dignified and stable living conditions.
